Web Application Developers

Job Description

We are looking for web application developers who are passionate about their work. As a web application developer you will be working with a strong team in defining how software services are presented to our customers. A background in computer science with experience in web-technologies (preferably Ruby on Rails) would be highly desired. Web application developers in our team are responsible for innovating and creating great user experiences that make our customer's excited, which then contributes directly to our business success. Essential Job Functions

1. Design, develop, test and deploy production-ready applications and scripts with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and other web development technologies and tools.
2. Recommend new solutions and software improvements and upgrades to existing software solutions.
3. Mentor team members and perform other duties as assigned by the management.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate needs to have the following qualifications
1. B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science or MCA
2. 2-4 years of work experience in data-rich web application development (preferably AJAX based applications) with Ruby on Rails or PHP (with or without using frameworks)
3. Understanding of object oriented design and development and OOPS concepts.
4. Strong in clean sheet database design, development, SQL
5. Understanding of web standards, web programming, and full stack engineering
6. Proficient in Javascript, AJAX, jQuery, HTML, XHTML, CSS
7. Good communication skills & strong team player
8. Highly self-motivated, flexible, and self-directed person who enjoys working in a fast paced start-up environment

Desired skills

1. Database performance tuning experience
2. Experience with scaling and security
3. Experience with version control tool (e.g., Git, SVN, etc.),
4. Test Driven Development experience
5. Experience with HTML 5 and CSS 3
